Larichfraskan
Proterra Energy carried out the feasibility, design and installation of the Larichfraskan micro hydro scheme in 2015.
Considering the head and flow availability on site, a Turgo turbine was identified as the best option and the scheme was sized at 15kW.
With an 80% load factor, the scheme continues to provide a reliable and secure source of power for the local property, off-setting the majority of the electricity use while exporting the remaining energy to the national grid.
