Micro Hydro Scheme Case Study: Glen Shiel
Following a topographical review of the area, Proterra Energy proactively contacted the Client about the potential of the burn running through common grazings beside the croft.
The scheme utilises an existing disused Scottish water dam on site, reducing the environmental impact of the project. The Client now has a diversified form of income and uses the hydro to charge an electric vehicle.
The micro hydro scheme continues to perform well with Proterra Energy providing regular servicing and support.
