Off Grid Hydro and Solar System Upgrade and Refurbishment: Gairlochy

Proterra Energy was employed to carry out the upgrade and refurbishment of an off grid hydro and solar system near Gairlochy.

Both the existing solar array and battery bank were replaced and enlarged to increase generation and system efficiency.

Although the on site turbine dated to 1937, Proterra Energy were able to automate its operation, minimising the need for frequent intervention and maximising the output of the system.

In the months following the system upgrade the works resulted in a diesel saving of over 70%.
